United States Navy Master-At-Arms Chief Petty Officer Douglas L. Garner recently completed a nine-month deployment in the Persian Gulf region in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

During the deployment, Garner was assigned to a U.S. Army forward deployment unit. He was awarded the U.S. Army Commendation Medal for his performance as the Military Police Law and Order Operation department head.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Christopher M. Reese, son of Ruth Rickett of Hagerstown, and Michael Reese of South Carolina, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Reese is a 2005 graduate of Boonsboro High School and Hagerstown Community College.

Air Force Airman Stacey M. Powell, daughter of Robert Powell of Cumberland, Md., and Cathy Dotson of Hagerstown, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Powell earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course.


Powell is a 2004 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

Air Force Airman Montea L. Nickens, daughter of David Nickens of Deltona, Fla., and Brenda Jones of Hagerstown, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Nickens is a 2006 graduate of Washington County Technical High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Teresa A. Verdi, daughter of Michael J. Verdi of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Patricia A. Verdi of Falling Waters, W.Va., graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Verdi is a 2003 graduate of Hedgesville (W.Va.) High School.

Army Pvt. Corey M. Bodencak, son of Margaret Fineagan of Martinsburg, W.Va., and John Bodencak of Laurel, Del., graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.

Lance Cpl. R. Scott Mumma, son of Tammy Mumma of Hagerstown, and Deb Mumma of Mercersburg, Pa., graduated March 9, 2006, from the Automotive Organizational Maintenance Course given at Marine Corps Combat Service Support School, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Mumma currently is assigned to the 1st Division, 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine, HQ Company at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Mumma is a 2005 graduate of Williamsport High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Michael T. Martin, son of Julie A. Crowell of Martinsburg, W.Va., graduated from the Power-Generation Equipment Repairer Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at Aberdeen (Md.) Proving Ground.

Air Force Senior Airman Bradley R. Iseminger, son of Pamela and stepson of Darin Domer of Greencastle, Pa., has been deployed to the Persian Gulf region to support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom as a member of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing.

He regularly is assigned to the 36th Civil Engineering Squadron, Andersen Air Force Base, Agana, Guam.

Iseminger is a disaster preparedness journeyman with four years of military service.

His wife, Pamela, is the daughter of David Willox of Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and Carol Schoenberg of Manahawkin, N.J.

Iseminger is a 2001 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, Greencastle, Pa.

Army Reserve Pfc. Taylor S. Brosehart, son of Christopher P. Brosehart of Falling Waters, W.Va., has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Brosehart, a mechanic with two years of military service, normally is assigned to the 811th Ordnance Co., Greencastle, Pa.

Brosehart is a 2004 graduate of Mountaineer Challenge Academy, Kingwood, W.Va.
