Library to host voter program

August 23, 2006

A statewide program to increase voter awareness of the security measures in place to safeguard votes cast in Maryland will stop Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Washington County Free Library in Hagerstown.

The Maryland Election Integrity Program mobile exhibit is designed to help voters understand what goes in to providing the security.

Included in the traveling exhibit is a voting machine that will enable voters to become more familiar with it prior to the election. A representative of the Maryland State Board of Elections will be on hand to answer questions.

For information about the upcoming elections, call the Maryland State Board of Elections at 1-800-222-8683 or go to www.elections.state.md.us.
