August 23, 2006

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Ryan Meyers pitched five innings of scoreless relief to help the Hagerstown Suns shut down the West Virginia Power on Tuesday.

Meyers relieved newly acquired starter Brandon Wilson, who joined the Suns when Deolis Guerra was promoted to St. Lucie earlier in the day.

The Suns scored single runs in the first, seventh and eighth innings.

Jose Castro had two hits and scored twice, while Nick Evans and Ryan Coultas each drove in runs for Hagerstown.
