August 20, 2006

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The West Virginia Power took a 3-0 lead after three innings, then held on after Hagerstown scored twice in the seventh to secure a 3-2 victory over the Suns on Saturday night.

Suns starter Zac Clements (0-3) walked four Power hitters in the second inning - the fourth forcing in a run - and also gave up Darren Ford's RBI infield single. In the third, Michael Bell doubled to left and later scored on Michael Brantley's sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.

West Virginia starter Shawn Ferguson (2-2) kept the Suns off the scoreboard until the seventh, when Jonel Pacheco led off with his eighth home run of the season. Later in the inning, Will Vogl singled, stole second and scored on Jeffrey Voyles' single.

Kevin Roberts entered the game in the eighth and got a two-inning save for the Power, working around two hits to finish off the Suns.
