From the principal

Q. What are the biggest challenges this year?

A. One of our greatest challenges is to ensure all students are meeting the state standards for proficiency. While many of our students have demonstrated proficiency, we still want to ensure and see proficiency for all.

Q. What are your goals for the school year?

A. We have several goals for the 2006-07 school year. Our goals are to provide excellence for all students, use of higher-order questioning to enhance understanding, and to collaborate with parents and community members to ensure student participation in daily instruction.

Q. What will help ensure a successful school year?

A. A collaborative learning community of parents, students and staff focused on excellence for all.

Q. What message would you like to send as the school year begins?

A. We want parents and students to be involved in the educational process. We encourage parents to talk with their children about school daily and continue to be an advocate for your child's improvement from year to year.

We want students to share with their parents what they have been learning in school. Students need to complete all homework each night and be sure to bring all materials needed for the next school day.

Q. What special projects will occur during the school year?

A. One project for the school year is to implement the use of more technology. Several staff members will be implementing the use of Smart Board Technology in their classrooms.
