Q. What are the biggest challenges this year?

A. The biggest challenge is to consistently continue to improve both instructionally and in learning so that every child is successful! We are a growing school community at Greenbrier, so we must work diligently to build bridges of welcome and continuing communication with families of new students and with our current student families.

Q. What are your goals for the school year?

A. Our ultimate goal is every child achieving proficiency or advanced in reading and math. To achieve this, we will: a) continue to focus on clear and effective instruction; b) refine our understanding of ways to differentiate instruction to meet students' learning styles and developmental needs; and c) use the classroom focused-improvement process to help us to find effective strategies to meet learning problems as indicated through data analysis.

Q. What will ensure a successful school year?

A. Some of the things necessary for a successful year are high expectations, effective instruction, engaged and happy students and continued collaboration of our stakeholders: parents, staff, students and community businesses.

Q. What message would you like to send as the school year begins?

A. "Welcome Back to School!" Students, exciting and fun learning opportunities await you this school year both in class and via assemblies and field trips! Parents, our Greenbrier PTA and CAC need your help as they work with staff and administration in their endeavor to see that success happens for every student. Please join our Greenbrier Learning Community - where we seek to make everyone a life-long learner! Our office door is always open!

Q. What special projects will occur during the school year?

A. As the Washington County School System's Spanish Signature School, Greenbrier's third-grade students will be added to the grade levels having Spanish language instruction each school day. There will be an emphasis on integration of Spanish into science.
