Q. What are the biggest challenges this year?

A. The new mathematics, science and technology components of the school present an exciting challenge for Williamsport Elementary this year. The staff has been working over the summer to develop an environmental focus and learn the technology in order to integrate mathematics, science and other content areas into daily lessons.

Q. What are your goals for the school year?

A. My goals are to promote student success, teacher growth, positive parent involvement and a quality learning community.

Q. What will help ensure a successful school year?

A. A commitment to the belief that all students can learn and that student achievement is the foundation for all decisions.

Q. What message would you like to send as the school year begins?

A. Williamsport Elementary is a learning community in which parents, students, teachers and staff work together in a cooperative and collaborative manner for student success.

Q. What special projects will occur during the school year?

A. It is expected that each grade level will choose an environmental theme that will permeate through daily instruction and special projects throughout the school year. Additionally, mathematics will be integrated through these authentic activities supported by technology and focused on the environmental themes. As a result, Williamsport Elementary may apply to become a Green School. Green Schools involve students in creating a green and healthy space around the school, and learning about the environment.
