Suns crack 'Claws

August 18, 2006

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Hagerstown Suns found the best way to win a game on Thursday.

Don't let the other team score. Better yet, don't let them even hit the ball.

Delois Guerra pitched the first five of 7 2/3 no-hit innings as the Suns shut down Lakewood 5-0 to end a three-game losing streak.

Rafael Arroyo drove in three runs with a suicide squeeze bunt in the fifth inning and a two-run double in the three-run ninth inning.

Jonel Pacheco added two hits. The left fielder tripled and scored on a wild pitch in the first and scored on Arroyo's bunt.

Guerra allowed six walks in his start, forcing him to leave after the fifth. Brandon Nall kept the no-hitter going until two outs in the eighth when Avelino Asprilla beat out a slow roller up the third-base line.
