August 17, 2006

ROUZERVILLE, Pa. - The second annual Rouzerfest is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Red Run Park, and promoters are promising a family-oriented day of food, music and activities.

The Rouzerville Lions Club breakfast precedes the event at 6:30 a.m.

The main stage has Lakota performing classic rock between 9 and 10 a.m.; Borderline providing country tunes from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Aisle 6 adding more classic rock to the day between 1 and 2 p.m.; Possum Holler & Tori Anderson presenting country music from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Jr. Kline & the Recliners finishing the day from 5 to 7 p.m. with blues, motown, beach and party music. The Waynesboro Children's Theatre Troupe also will be on the stage throughout Rouzerfest.

Nickel bingo, played from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., proved to be a popular attraction last year.

The Red Run Express is slated to provide train rides for children, who also have pony rides available. Hot air balloons are also scheduled for rides.

The event features dozens of vendors in a craft show and this year will bring a parade through town starting at 9 a.m.

That parade is one activity marking the 100th anniversary of the Blue Ridge Summit (Pa.) Fire Department.

Motorcyclists celebrating that anniversary launch a 120-mile ride at 11 a.m. and return in the afternoon for awards.
