The Borough of Waynesboro is in the midst of its 2006 paving projects, which are expected to continue at least through the end of September, borough staff said.

The total reconstruction of Mount Airy Avenue and North Broad Street, which totaled $240,000 of grant money, has been completed.

Other roads designated for full reconstruction are:

· North Potomac Street between West Main Street and West North Street.

· Clayton Avenue between West Fifth Street and Old Mill Road.

· South Broad Street between East Main Street and East Third Street.

· West Ninth Street between Park Street and Anthony Avenue.

· Park Street between West Eighth Street and West Ninth Street.

Reconstruction has started for Walnut Street, from the alley south of East Third Street to West Sixth Street, and South Church Street, from Main Street to Third Street.

The final streets to undergo paving work will be West Ninth Street from South Potomac Street to Park Street; Clayton Avenue from Old Mill Road to East Ninth Street; North Franklin Street from West North Street to King Street; and West Second Street from Hamilton Avenue to Fairview Avenue. Each of the four will be resurfaced.
