CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The preliminary hearing for a Fayetteville, Pa., man charged with attempted homicide in a July 8 stabbing in Chambersburg was continued Tuesday in Franklin County Central Court.

The hearing for Ronald Jermaine Galbreath, 31, of 134 Mont Alto Road, was rescheduled for Sept. 19, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Galbreath also is charged with aggravated assault in the incident, which occurred on West South Street. Police got a call about a fight in progress and found a large group of people in a parking lot behind a bar, Rob and Dara's, "some of whom were yelling and quite agitated," according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Police said the victim, Dennis Hicks Jr. of Chambersburg, walked into the parking lot from Hollywell Avenue. He was bleeding from a cut on his left forearm and a stab wound above his left eye, police said.

Hicks was taken to Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, police said.

On July 10, Hicks told police he knew the man who attacked him only as "Gee," but did pick him out of a photographic lineup.

Galbreath is being held in Franklin County Prison, a prison officer said Tuesday evening.
