Around South Hagerstown

August 15, 2006|by STACI CLIPP

Well, in case your're counting down the days until school starts - there's only nine days left! You still have a little bit of time to finish all that shopping you have to do! And in case your not finished yet:

Tax-free shopping available at outlets

Prime Outlets is offering extended shopping hours and bonus discounts for back-to-school shoppers.

Summer vacation is winding down, and parents, teachers and students are gearing up for the first day of school. Thankfully, back-to-school shoppers will catch a break because Maryland's tax-free shopping week is back after five years, and so are Prime Outlets Hagerstown's extended shopping hours.

During the three-day tax-free weekend, Aug. 25-27, Prime Outlets will open at 9 a.m., Friday, 8 a.m., Saturday and 10 a.m., Sunday, allowing guests more time to take advantage of this tax-free bonanza.

This tax-free week has quickly become the center's second busiest shopping timeframe, just behind Black Friday, said Rachia Green, marketing manager at Prime Outlets.

Tax-free shopping days help back-to-school shoppers, particularly parents, who are shopping for more than one child.
