A man was assaulted and robbed Saturday as he rode with a friend south of Hagerstown, then was pushed from the moving vehicle, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.
The man reported that a friend gave him a ride, but other people he didn't know also were in the vehicle, Lt. Tim Baker said.
After riding for about a mile, the other people in the vehicle assaulted and used a cattle prod on him in the 19300 block of Bettys Avenue, off Roxbury Road, Baker said.
After stealing a few hundred dollars and a cell phone from the man, they pushed him from the vehicle, dragging him for a few hundred feet, Baker said.
