FUNKSTOWN - A family of three was temporarily displaced Saturday morning from a mobile home off National Pike after a small fire in the master bedroom filled the residence with smoke, Funkstown Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Paul Hottinger said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 19958 National Pike about 8:44 a.m., Hottinger said.
When he opened the door to the residence, Hottinger estimated there was about 40 percent visibility because of the smoke. The blaze and the damage mostly was confined to the bedroom, Hottinger said.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze, he said.
Firefighters from Mount Aetna, Boonsboro and Halfway assisted Funkstown at the scene.
The American Red Cross is helping the family. Hottinger said the family might be able to move back into the rented home after it is cleaned.
