Hagerstown Spring & Alignment Inc. is expanding its operations at 1423 Oakmont Drive in Hagerstown.

Construction of the 11,200-square-foot addition began in January. Completion of the project is expected in August with an estimated capital investment of $1 million.

As a result of the expansion, the company anticipates creating 30 new jobs, according to a prepared release.

Tony McLean, president of Hagerstown Spring & Alignment, said in the release that the expansion project will allow the company to fill a niche in the heavy-duty truck market as well as expand existing services.

"Currently, there are no companies in our region offering paint and body shop services for heavy-duty trucks. By incorporating these services into our expansion project, we have an opportunity to grow our business," said McLean.

Companies like Hagerstown Spring & Alignment are the backbone of our local economy," said Timothy R. Troxell, CEcD, executive director, Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission.
