Schultz wins Chi Chi's Shootout

Beaver Creek professional Dirk Schultz won the Horizon Chi Chi's Shootout on Thursday as the WACO weeklong festivities continued at Beaver Creek Country Club.

Schultz defeated Randy Cree with a par on the final hole. Schultz posted three birdies down the stretch on his way to the win.

Mike Butts was third, Greg Henry fourth and Brian Crabtree was fifth.

The "Big Daddy" Long Drive contest is tonight at 5 and the WACO Championship is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Beaver Creek.

3-on-3 basketball

TeenFest '06 will hold a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Saturday at Fairgrounds Park in Hagerstown. There will be 13- to 15-year-old age groups and 16-19 age groups for both boys and girls. Check-in time for the tournament is 9:45-10:15 a.m. Cost is $5 per person. All entry fees will be dispensed for prizes.

Shepherd footballseason tickets on sale

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2006 Shepherd University football season.

The Rams will host five contests this season. The home opener will be against C.W. Post (Ram Gridiron Club/Military Appreciation Day) on Sept. 16. Other home games include: Glenville State (Family Day - Sept. 23), Fairmont State (Hall of Fame Weekend - Sept. 30), Concord (Homecoming - Oct. 21), and West Virginia Wesleyan (Senior Day/Take a Kid to the Game Day - Oct. 28).

Upper reserved season tickets are available for $75, while lower reserved tickets are $50. General admission season passes are available for $25.
