Plenty of peaches

August 11, 2006

LEITERSBURG - The 27th Leitersburg Peach Festival on Saturday, Aug. 12, and Sunday, Aug. 13, will have, among other things, peaches - be they baked in pies or on sale in a bushel basket.

A peach pie contest entry deadline is at noon Saturday. An antique tractor contest also is scheduled.

Other food such as funnel cakes, snow cones and beef barbecue sandwiches will be sold.

The festival also features craft vendors, a petting zoo and barrel train rides for children. There also will be a quilt raffle.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Leitersburg Ruritan Community Park, behind Leitersburg Fire Hall.

Admission and parking are free.
