Happy birthday to you! Cody Wayne Boward of Halfway celebrated his special day, Aug. 4. Cody turned 6 on Friday and will be entering first grade this year!

Wild West Showdown

Visit Antietam Recreation on Garis Shop Road on Saturday, Aug. 12, for a Wild West Showdown! This fun outdoor event held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. offers a dinner buffet, exciting and fun outdoor activities, and a wild west drama, featuring world champion roper Andy Rotz. Park concert

Visit Hagerstown City Park on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. for the Music by the Lake concert series at the park bandshell. This summer series will feature the music of Borderline. Golf tournament

Christ's Reformed Church of Hagerstown will be hosting their second annual golf tournament at Black Rock golf course on Friday, Aug. 25, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Cost for participants is $75 per player or $260 per foursome, which includes a catered meal after the tournament. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Aspiring to Serve Community Center, which houses Commission on Aging, WIC, Potomac Case Management and REACH. Those interested in participating may obtain applications for playing and sponsorship of holes by contacting the church office at 301-733-4144 or Bill Shank at 301-797-1143.

Augustoberfest

Visit downtown Hagerstown on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26-27, for the Augustoberfest celebration. Visit downtown, the central parking lot downtown, for a traditional bavarian festival beginning at 11 a.m. This annual event features Bavarian entertainment and delicious foods.
