August 11, 2006

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A former Martinsburg man indicted on counts of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual abuse by a custodian and incest involving a 5-year-old girl was captured in Manassas, Va., according to a press release from West Virginia State Police.

The man was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Prince William County (Va.) Police Department, Sgt. D.E. Boober said in the release.

The indictment was handed up by a Berkeley County grand jury in May 2005 and stems from an alleged incident in 2002, police said.

The man is at an adult detention center in Virginia awaiting an extradition hearing.
