School board begins search for Rearick's replacement

August 11, 2006

GREENCASTLE, PA. - The Greencastle-Antrim School Board is conducting a formal search for a new district superintendent after receiving an anticipated letter of resignation from P. Duff Rearick, who is in his 12th year with the district.

"I'm calling it more of a transition than a retirement," Rearick said.

March 30, 2007, brings an official end to his 35 years in education.

"It's the only thing I've ever done," he said. "I love it."

Rearick said he's not sure what he will do once he leaves the superintendent's post, but is looking forward to spending time with his four grandchildren.

The district has a residents' survey available on its Web site at www.greencastle.k12.pa.us. The survey has nine questions to provide feedback to the school board during the selection process.
