Suns fall on road

August 09, 2006

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville roughed up Hagerstown starter Zac Clements for six runs in the fourth inning as the Drive beat the Suns for the second straight night Tuesday, 8-3.

The first seven hitters Clements (0-1) faced in the fourth reached base - three on run-scoring hits, two by walk, one hit by a pitch and the last on an infield error.

Hagerstown's Jose Castro had an RBI single in both the sixth and seventh inning and Nick Evans added a run-scoring single as the Suns cut the deficit in half.

But the Drive added insurance in the bottom of the seventh when Yahmed Yema led off with a single against reliever Brandon Nall and Tony Granadillo followed with a two-run homer to left field.

Greenville starter Clay Buchholz (8-4) allowed just two hits in five innings while striking out six.
