Ag commission meeting is Wednesday

ANNAPOLIS - A meeting of the Maryland Agricultural Commission will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, in the lower level conference room at the state Department of Agriculture, 50 Harry S. Truman Parkway.

Agenda items include:

· Information on the completed Beef Processing Feasibility Study;

· Information on the economic impact to Maryland producers and the state by Ed Burchell, owner of Rosetta Farms; and

· The function and structure of USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, including a discussion of the programs available to Maryland farmers by Virginia "Ginger" Murphy, state conservationist for NRCS.
