Martina S. Reheard, 95



JULY 4, 1911-AUG. 6, 2006

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Martina S. Murphy Reheard, 95, of 12345 Loop Road, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born July 4, 1911, in Adams County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Bard Murphy and Mariah Wagaman.

Her husband, Clarence S. Reheard, died Jan. 8, 1978. They were married Dec. 21, 1935.

She was a housekeeper at Samuel G. Dixon Hospital, South Mountain, Pa., for more than 36 years, retiring in 1977.

She attended services at South Mountain Bible Church and New Baltimore Church of God, both of South Mountain.

She is survived by one daughter, Delma M. Spoonhour of Fayetteville; two sons, Vincent L. Wagaman and Robert C. Wile, both of Fayetteville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister; two brothers; one granddaughter; and one grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. David L. Keener will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, Pa.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Thursday at the funeral home.




Linda L. Manahan, 59



SEPT. 15, 1946-AUG. 7, 2006

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Linda L. Gaver Manahan, 59, a resident of The Shepherd's Choice Nursing Home, and formerly of 17340 Naylor Road, Sabillasville, Md., died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, at the nursing home.

Born Sept. 15, 1946, in Cascade, she was the daughter of the late Glen E. and Marie A. Smith Gaver.

She graduated from Smithsburg High School with the class of 1964.

She ran daycare out of her home for 27 years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Germantown Church of God, Cascade.

She was a member of TOPS, Waynesboro, Pa., and Job's Daughters, Thurmont, Md.

She is survived by her husband of more than 38 years, Charles L. Manahan; three daughters, Annamarie Donatto of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Rebecca M. Harbaugh of Cascade, and Beth N. Brown of Hagerstown; two sisters, Judy A. Flook of Cascade and Bonnie M. McGlaughlin of Fairfield, Pa.; and four grandsons.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Dr. Bruce Henneman will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.




Franklin J. Mumaw, 81

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Franklin J. Mumaw, 81, of Kearneysville, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, at City Hospital.

Born Jan. 29, 1925, in Kernstown, Va., he was the son of the late Ray L. and Mary Wolford Mumaw.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Crawford, and his second wife, Hilda Files Mumaw.

He was a truck driver for Halltown (W.Va.) Paper Board.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by one son, Donald J. Mumaw of Kearneysville; one granddaughter, Theresa Mumaw of Sterling, Va.; one grandson, Donald F. Mumaw of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two stepgranddaughters, Jeanette Caniford of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Joann E. Howe of Pennsylvania; one stepgrandson, Allen Jarrell of Leesburg, Va.; his friend, Bonnie Snyder of Berryville, Va.; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Mumaw and Harry Mumaw.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastor Ed Wade will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

Friends may visit today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Eleanor G. Snyder, 89

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Eleanor Gates Snyder, 89, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Born Dec. 22, 1916, in McDowell County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Darwin Roy and Della Jane Hess Gates.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Verl W. Snyder, July 4, 1994. They were married in 1935.

She was a 1933 graduate of Fairmont West Side High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Fairmont College, Fairmont, W.Va., in 1937 and a master's degree from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., in 1960.

She taught school from 1948 to 1967.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by one sister, Leona G. Griffith of Berkeley Springs; several nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be private and held in Greenway Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Albert L. Taylor, 65



FEB. 26, 1941-JULY 23, 2006

OREM, Utah - Albert "Sonny" Lester Taylor, 65, of Orem, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, July 23, 2006.

Born Feb. 26, 1941, in Williamsport, he was the son of Myra Jane Myers Taylor and the late Lee Taylor.

He was employed with Xerox Corporation in the service department, retiring after 32 years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force with the military police, training dogs.
