Hagerstown Torch Club to meet in September

August 07, 2006

In September, Hagerstown's Torch Club will begin its 54th year of existence.

The Torch Club is an organization of practicing and retired professionals who meet nine times a year to exchange information, ideas and knowledge. The members are from all walks of life - architects, bankers, clergymen, educators, engineers, doctors, dentists, judges, lawyers and other professions. Political, governmental and business leaders with professional skills and values seek admission and are welcomed into the Torch Club.

Hagerstown's Torch Club meets once a month from September to May, on the third Tuesday of each month, at the Four Points Sheraton on Dual Highway.

Membership in the Torch Club is an ideal way for people to gain knowledge about fields of interest other than their own. It is an excellent opportunity for retired persons to share knowledge they have gained in their careers with others. An added benefit is meeting new friends from a wide field of professions, and sharing ideas that might change or enhance one's thinking. The organization was named "Torch" because it shares the light of understanding and truth.
