Two men were injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning along U.S. 40 at Cool Hollow Road near Hagerstown, Maryland State Police said.
Marc Andre Given, 20, of Hagerstown, was driving a 2000 Honda Prelude west on U.S. 40 when he tried to pass another vehicle and lost control, police said. After passing the vehicle, Given went through the guardrail on the right shoulder and down an embankment, police said.
His passenger, Charles White, 18, of Hagerstown, had serious injuries, according to police.
He was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was in serious but stable condition Sunday night, according to a hospital secretary.
Given was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening and released.
Police said the investigation was continuing.
