Leadership group offers assistance to nonprofits

August 06, 2006

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Area nonprofit organizations in need of assistance with local projects are being offered the opportunity to tap into the skills and services offered through the Leadership Franklin County program.

Requests for project proposals are being distributed to area groups and agencies available now through the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation.

Project ideas are being sought that will allow participants in this year's Leadership Franklin County program to enhance their leadership skills by designing and implementing a project or program that meets a community need.

Proposals are being accepted through Aug. 31, and the scope of the work should be designed so that projects can be completed by May 2007 to coincide with the graduation of the 2006-07 Leadership class.

Complete details needed to submit a proposal can be obtained by contacting Melissa Knepper at the Chamber Foundation at 717-264-7101.

Leadership Franklin County recruits and equips Franklin County residents and business employees to serve as community leaders. Each year, Leadership Students work in teams to complete a community project as part of this nine-month development program.
