Forever singing

On Tuesday, Aug. 15, Totem Pole Playhouse debuts its final show of summer season, "Forever Plaid," - a musical, comic tribute to the guy groups of the '50s and '60s. The story follows the journey of a group of singers on their way to their first gig. Their dreams of superstardom are cut short in a collision with a school bus. Through quasi-divine intervention, these crooners with angelic voices come back to do the show they never got to do in real life.

Totem Pole's production features, from left, Darren Server, David Perlman, Meyer de Leeuw and Chad Coudriet. Classic songs include "Three Coins in The Fountain," "Heart and Soul," "Sixteen Tons" and a calypso parody. A post-show discussion will take place Saturday, Aug. 19.
