MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Two people were found slain Friday night - one on Garnes Road and another on Robinson Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

At 8:30 p.m., all police in the area were alerted to be on the lookout for a vehicle coming from the scenes of those homicides.

A trooper at the Chambersburg barrack said only that one homicide was found at each location.

Shortly after 11 p.m., Franklin County District Attorney John F. Nelson pulled into the Longview Campgrounds off Robinson Road along with several unmarked Pennsylvania State Police cruisers. In the cruisers were members of the Criminal Investigation Unit from the state police barrack in Chambersburg, Pa.

Fire police at the scene said that part of the campground had been closed off for several hours.

A man, who declined to be identified and is a resident of the campgrounds, said his uncle was shot at Longview. He said he last saw his uncle about 20 minutes before the shooting occurred. He said the shooting might have happened between 6:30 and 7 p.m.

The man said his uncle knew the man who allegedly shot him.

No one else was injured at the campgrounds, according to the man.

A map of the Mercersburg area shows Garnes Road as running south from Pa. 16 near Welsh Run.

Robinson Road parallels Big Spring Creek off Charlestown Road, according to the map.

No further information was available Friday night.
