The Rices



Howard and Bonnie Rice of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 24, 2006, at a surprise dinner reception at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. The dinner was hosted by their four children and spouses, Tim and Sheila Rice of Boonsboro, Earl and Cindy Rice of Hagerstown, Scott and Nina Rice of Funks-town and Erin and Linda Dodson of Hagerstown. Eighty family members and friends attended the event.

The Rices were married Saturday, June 23, 1956, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. Charles W. Dausch.

Bonnie (Price) Rice retired in 2004 from Washington County Public Schools after working at Bester Elementary School for 32 years. She volunteers with elementary schools in the county.

Howard Rice retired in 2005 from Washington County Public Schools, where he was head of the Maintenance Department.

The Rices both volunteer with the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.

They have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Weavers



Tony and Rhonda Weaver of Hagerstown celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at a surprise event at the Funkstown Moose Lodge Saturday, June 17. The celebration was hosted by their daughter and spouse, Kelli and Chris Jones and their son, Dwayne Weaver, all of Hagerstown. About 150 guests attended the event, including some from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Florida and Tennessee.

The Weavers were married June 27, 1981, at Grace United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, by the late Rev. Charles B. Weber.

Mrs. Weaver is the former Rhonda Fay Hess, daughter of Walter "Gabby" and Mary Louise Hess of Hagerstown. She is employed in the Food Nutrition Department of Washington County Hospital.

Mr. Weaver is the son of James "Bill" and Dorothy Weaver of Hagerstown. He has been employed with Statton Furniture Co. for 28 years.

The Weavers are expecting their first grandchild in November.

The Floras



Ray and Imagene (Farrow) Flora of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the UAW Hall in Maugansville with family and friends. The event was hosted by their children and spouses, Rhonda and Abe Abbott of Keedysville, Ruby and Kurt Sherman of Frederick, Md., Brian and Judy Flora of Hagerstown and Sharon and Joel Chewning of Chino Hills, Calif.

The Floras were married June 14, 1956, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring.

Mrs. Flora is the daughter of the late John and Rhoda Farrow. She retired from Williamsport Nursing Home.

Mr. Flora is the son of the late Lewis and Julia Flora. He retired from the City of Hagerstown.

They have five grandsons and three granddaughters; two great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.
