Man faces assault, endangerment charges



A Hagerstown man who allegedly threatened a woman with a meat cleaver after smoking crack cocaine has been charged with assault, according to Washington County District Court documents.

Probable cause was found to charge Clifford Eugene Mock, 43, of 41 W. Bethel St., with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of second-degree assault, according to court documents.

On June 22 at a home on West Bethel Street, Mock allegedly threatened a woman with a meat cleaver and hit a man in the face, according to one of the victim's application for statement of charges. The meat cleaver was about 8 inches long, with a blade about 5 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide, the document states.




Man allegedly defied protection order



A Hagerstown man is accused of repeatedly calling a woman and entering her house after being told to stay away, according to Washington County District Court documents.

Keith Duane Hollinger, 34, was charged with three counts of violating a protection order, trespassing and fourth-degree burglary, according to court documents.

Hollinger allegedly called the woman several times July 4, and entered her home in the 900 block of Salem Avenue July 5 in violation of a protection order, according to court documents.




Man charged with theft and assault



A Hagerstown man who allegedly threatened a woman with a box cutter after she confronted him about stealing a scooter was charged with crimes including theft and assault, according to Washington County District Court documents.

Probable cause was found Tuesday to charge George W. Minnick, 18, of 10814 Mapleville Road, with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft of less than $500, according to court documents.

According to a probable cause statement filed at Washington County District Court, Minnick allegedly put a box cutter against the neck of a woman who told police she saw him steal a scooter. Minnick put the box cutter away when a second woman approached him after the theft of the $210 scooter from a home in the 500 block of Salem Avenue on June 28, the charging document states.




Man faces accessory and assault charges



A Montgomery County, Md., man was behind the wheel when a man in his vehicle threatened residents of West Side Avenue with a gun, a Washington County District Court document alleges.

Hoa Hiep Diep, 20, of 18013 Foxworth Court in Germantown, Md., was charged with possession of firearms, accessory after the statute, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, first-degree assault and second-degree assault, according to court documents.

Diep allegedly drove the black 2006 Scion that passed through the West Side Avenue neighborhood on March 13. A passenger in the vehicle allegedly pointed a long gun at residents in the first block of the street, and told them he was going to shoot them, the charging document states.
