Council backs town home project

July 27, 2006|by ANDREW SCHOTZ

A plan to build 47 town homes on East Baltimore Street may proceed in an area served by an overcapacity school, the Hagerstown City Council decided Tuesday.

The council voted 4-1 to grant the exemption.

Councilwoman Penny M. Nigh voted "no." She said it could set a precedent for Deerfield Knolls, which is proposed as 83 town house units on the west side of North Burhans Boulevard.
