Reunions

July 24, 2006

The Boonsboro High School Class of 1948 celebrated its 58th reunion on June 7 at the American Legion Home in Boonsboro.

Eighteen class members, along with spouses, friends and former teacher Jean Keyser, enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, great fellowship, and lively entertainment by the "Sensational Sounds," Jack and Bonnie Haines.

After the entertainment, reunion chairperson Lucille Murray gave an update on the class members who could not attend.

A memorial service was conducted for the deceased members of the class. The names were read and the Rev. Ralph Jamison, a class member, offered prayer.

Class member Gerald Holmes gave an update on the Boonsboro High School Class of 1948 Memorial Award, established in 1990 in memory of the deceased class members. Since the inception of the award, a senior from Boonsboro High School has been selected each year by the high school awards committee and awarded a cash gift. Jarrett Dias was the 2006 recipient.
