Virginia Avenue repaving to begin Monday morning

Work crews from C. William Hetzer Inc. will begin milling and repaving Virginia Avenue between Howard Street and Park Circle on Monday at 7 a.m., weather permitting, according to a press release from the City of Hagerstown's Engineering & Inspections Department.

Motorists approaching the work area should expect to encounter flag people, temporary lane closures and traffic control devices, according to the release.

Motorists are advised that traffic delays are likely near the work area, and that alternate routes should be considered, according to the release.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the work zone, according to the release.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday.
