County commissioners to meet in closed session

The Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday in closed session to discuss a personnel matter, according to a county press release.

The meeting will be at 9 a.m. in the commissioners meeting room on the second floor of the County Administration Building at 100 W. Washington St. in Hagerstown.

Tuesday had been scheduled as a commissioners' vacation week. The commissioners will not meet Tuesday, Aug. 1, because of the change, according to the press release.

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, the meeting will be at the Department of Water Quality Building at 16232 Elliott Parkway, in the public meeting room, because of maintenance on the elevator at the County Administration Building. Elliott Parkway serves the I-70/81 Industrial Park off Md. 63 (Greencastle Pike) between Williamsport and Huyetts Crossroads.

There is no meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 15, because of the summer meeting of the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo).

While the elevator in the administration building in undergoing maintenance, those who cannot climb stairs, and who need to receive services from departments on the second and third floors of the building are asked to make contact with the department providing the service or the Office on Disability Issues to schedule an appointment in an accessible location, according to the press release.

Arrangements can be made by contacting the Office on Disability Issues at 240-313-2077 (V/TDD) or in person at the information desk in the mailroom on the first floor of the administration building.
