Composite sketch in rape case released

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police have released a composite sketch of the man they allege raped a woman inside her Barclay Village apartment earlier this month.

Compiled using the victim's description, the sketch depicts a white man about 30 years old with light color shoulder-length hair and a goatee, but no mustache. He is described as being about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds, police said.

He was wearing a dark T-shirt with a pocket and blue jeans, police said.

Police said the rape happened July 7 about 3 a.m., after the man knocked on the victim's door and called her name.

When the victim opened the door, the man pushed her down, raped her and then left, police said.

The victim told police she did not know her attacker, police said.

The Barclay Village apartment complex is on Heintzelman Avenue in Hamilton Township.


An investigation is continuing by Trooper Christian D. Fow. Anyone with information may call police at 717-264-5161.

Two face drug, gun charges in search

Two people were arrested on drug and gun charges Thursday after police used a search warrant to search a Hagerstown apartment, according to a press release from the Washington County Narcotics Task Force.

Jessica Jo Hunter, 25, of 17944 Garden Lane, Apt. 31, in Hagerstown, and Charles Webster Somerville, 26, of 24507 Hollywood Road in Hollywood, Md., each were charged with one count of possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm during drug trafficking crime and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, according to the release.

Hunter's Garden Lane apartment was searched Thursday. Inside, police found crack cocaine, a handgun, ammunition, a set of digital weight scales and a marijuana smoking device, according to the release.

The search was done by agents with the Narcotics Task Force.

Pa. man faces prostitution charge

A Hustontown, Pa., man was charged with prostitution general Friday morning during a Hagerstown Police Department undercover prostitution sting, according to a department press release.

Kenneth Wade McClure, 28, of 6038 Waterfall Road, was arrested Friday about 12:26 a.m. after he allegedly attempted to solicit an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute in the 200 block of West Church Street, according to the release.

McClure was brought before a Washington County District Court commissioner and released on personal recognizance, a commissioner said.

W.Va. man charged with solicitation

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Martinsburg man was charged Friday after police allege he agreed to perform sexual acts on a police informant and showed the informant a piece of crack cocaine he had hidden in his sock, according to a press release from Martinsburg Police Department Detective Sgt. George Swartwood.

Angel Manuel Pagan, 30, of 4200 Myna Court, was charged with solicitation of prostitution, simple possession of a controlled substance and an unrelated charge of fraudulent use of a credit card, according to the release.

Police said Pagan met the informant, a man, at the Caperton Train Station parking lot, then drove to a nearby parking lot in the 500 block of South Raleigh Street.

"The informant engaged the suspect in conversation in regards to what sexual acts would be performed for monetary gain. An agreement was made where the suspect advised he would perform either oral or sexual intercourse with the informant for sixty dollars," Swartwood wrote in the release.

The conversation was monitored by police, and Pagan was taken into police custody about 1 p.m. in the parking lot. The piece of crack cocaine in Pagan's sock was worth about $50, according to the release.

Pagan was being held Friday at the Eastern Regional Jail on $7,500 bond.

Woman faces drug, solicitation charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A woman was jailed Friday on charges of solicitation of prostitution and possession of heroin after she allegedly agreed to perform oral sex on an undercover detective, according to a press release from Martinsburg Police Department Detective Sgt. George Swartwood.

Karla Kay Gibbons, 41, formerly of 59 Capitol Drive, was arrested about 4:16 p.m. in the 500 block of South Raleigh Street, according to the release.

The informant met Gibbons in the 200 block of South Maple Avenue and left from there, traveling on King and Queen streets in downtown Martinsburg before arriving in a parking lot off South Raleigh Street, according to the release.

Gibbons was arrested after the informant gave her $80 for the sexual act, according to the release. A small amount of heroin was found in her possession when police recovered the "prerecorded" currency she was given, according to the release.
