Hiser helps Captains beat Hagerstown

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Hagerstown native P.J. Hiser helped beat Hagerstown on Tuesday.

The Lake County first baseman went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored as the Captains defeated the Suns, 3-1.

Hiser, who's batting .244 with four home runs this season, accounted for half of Lake County's four hits, which all came off starter Deolis Guerra (3-6), who went seven innings.

The Suns took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Leivi Ventura reached on an error to lead off the inning and Drew Butera followed with an RBI double.

But the Suns only managed one more hit the rest of the night - Parris Austin's leadoff single in the fifth.

Lake County scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh.

Hiser hit his home run in the seventh.
