WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., man who was left outside the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital in May died of a drug overdose, Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said Monday.
Toxicology tests showed that Gregory S. Callahan, 22, died of morphine toxicity, Conner said.
Callahan, of 13557B Summit Ave., was left outside the hospital emergency room at approximately 5:15 a.m. on May 13. He was pronounced dead in the hospital at 5:27 a.m., Conner said.
After Callahan's death, Waynesboro Police Chief Ray Shultz said his department was interviewing people Callahan knew to determine what happened to him that night. Investigators were also awaiting results of the toxicology tests to determine if he was dead when he was left outside the hospital or if he died in the emergency room.
Shultz has said when Callahan died could have a bearing on any charges that might be filed in the case.
