HALFWAY - In the past week, the National Amateur Roller Skating Association (NARSA ) national championships were held at Family Skating Center on Virginia Avenue in Halfway.

The organization consists of skaters from throughout the East Coast. Events range from figure skating to speed skating. The three-day competition had skaters pushing themselves to their limits to try to be the best in their divisions.

Family Skating Center provided NARSA with everything needed to hold the championships.

Each of the three members of the Hagerstown Hypersonics, a team based at Family Skating Center, went home with a medal.

On Wednesday night, a banquet was held for everyone involved in the competition. It consisted of dinner, an awards presentation and a three-hour dance party.
