BOONSBORO - Barbara Ellen "Barb" Itnyre Bittner, 51, of 21132 Reno Monument Road, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 9, 1954, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Nelson Earl and Margaret Louise Sigler Itnyre of Boonsboro.

She was a 1972 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

She was employed by the Washington County Board of Education.

She was a member of Boonsboro Bible Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dean Bittner, whom she married June 29, 1979; four daughters, Kelly M. Bittner of Hedgesville, W.Va., Stacey M. Bittner of Germantown, Md., and Shannon N. Bittner and Kristy L. Bittner, both of Boonsboro; and one son, Kyle W. Bittner of Boonsboro.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert D. Welty will officiate.

Private burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dale L. Gordon, 60

NEEDMORE, Pa. - Dale L. Gordon, 60, of 1230 Everetts Road in Needmore, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at his residence.

Born Friday, Aug. 3, 1945, in Needmore, Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Goldie E. Layton Gordon.

He retired from Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, Md., in 1999 after working there for 34 years. He also was a farmer, the owner and operator of Needmore Water Supply and also delivered pizzas for Mickey's Wholesale Pizza to Franklin County schools.

He was the husband of Bonnie M. Koontz Gordon, whom he married Aug. 20, 1965.

He was a member of Needmore Bible Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a past deacon. He also was on the building committee and involved with the prayer partners.

He was instrumental in starting the Fulton County Community Christian School in Needmore, where he was on the board and in charge of maintenance at the school.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Donnie L. (husband of Darlene L.) Gordon of Mercersburg, Pa.; daughter, Trudy K. (wife of Ron A.) Mesaros of Philadelphia; daughter, Jody R. (wife of Steve A.) Clark of Big Cove Tannery, Pa.; sister, Carol F. (wife of Ronald) Richards of Needmore; brother, Blaine (husband of Donna) Gordon of Needmore; grandson, Dylan T. Gordon of Mercersburg; granddaughter, Drew N. Gordon of Mercersburg; grandson, Mitchell A. Mesaros of Philadelphia; granddaughter, Morgan E. Mesaros of Philadelphia; grandson, Matthew A. Mesaros of Philadelphia; granddaughter, Cheyenne R. Clark of Big Cove Tannery; and grandson, Zachary A. Clark of Big Cove Tannery.

A religious service will be Tuesday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Needmore Bible Church, with Pastor Doug Poffenberger officiating.

Interment will be in Needmore Bible Church Cemetery.

There will be visitation Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at Needmore Bible Church. There also will be visitation Tuesday one hour before the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fulton County Community Christian School, P.O. Box 235, Needmore, PA 17238 or NBC Building Fund, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore, PA 17238.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Katheryn "Joie" Raney, 75, of Martinsburg, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at her home.

Born March 28, 1931, in Buckhannon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Don Wamsley and Verna Hollen Wamsley.

She was a graduate of the West Virginia College of Beauty Culture.

She had been employed by Jefferson Manufacturing.

She was a member of Rosemont Grace Brethren Church in Martinsburg, where she was a member of The Goldenaires.

She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Raney, whom she married Oct. 28, 1965; two sisters, Shirley W. Warner of Buckhannon, and Kay W. Brown of Franklin, N.C.; and one brother, Donald Wamsley of Buckhannon.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Wamsley.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Carl Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ray Eugene Shoemaker Sr., 64, of Hagerstown, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 20, 1942, in Cearfoss, he was the son of the late Samuel Richard and Margaret Pauline Pike Shoemaker.
