Auction fundraiser benefits Pa. theater

July 14, 2006

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - The Caledonia Theatre Company, the nonprofit organization charged with preserving and promoting Totem Pole Playhouse, has set a goal of $20,000 for a series of summer auctions. Two silent auctions remain and an ongoing summer-long eBay auction.

The first of three summer silent auctions netted more than $4,800 for the Totem Pole Playhouse. Individuals and businesses in Adams and Franklin counties supported the event by donating items and services. Patrons attending the plays have the opportunity to bid on the silent auction items nightly. Bids are opened each day and the high bids are posted the following morning. Each auction lasts for four weeks, and at the end of this period the item goes to the highest bidder. Patrons also may send in bids by mail.

For information or to donate items, call 1-888-805-7056 or go to www.TotemPolePlayhouse.org.
