HANCOCK - The Hancock Town Council on Wednesday awarded two $500 scholarships sponsored by Pepsi to two 2006 graduates of Hancock Middle-Senior High School.

Jennifer Willison and Dylan Shives won the scholarships after writing essays on what it meant to them growing up in Hancock.

Pepsi donated $1,000 for the scholarships.

Willison plans to attend Hood College in Frederick, Md., as a possible pre-med major, and Shives will attend Hagerstown Community College to study administration of justice, Hancock Mayor Daniel A. Murphy said.

Murphy said Shives hopes to work in law enforcement.
