Va. firm wins deal for Halfway sewer project



Am-Liner East Inc. of Sterling, Va., was awarded a $931,345 contract Tuesday by the Washington County Commissioners to complete a sewer project in Halfway.

The Halfway Area Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project includes furnishing and installing thousands of linear feet of liner for sewer pipes.

The contract is contingent upon approval by the Maryland Department of the Environment.

Asphalt paver to cost county $70,000



Washington County will "piggyback" the City of Frederick's contract with a Hagerstown company for an asphalt paver.

The asphalt paver from Valley Supply & Equipment Co. will cost the county $70,000, according to information provided by the county.

The intergovernmental purchase will save the county money, according to the information.
