Duff tops junior qualifier

Andrew Duff led the field on Tuesday in the third WACO junior qualifying tournament with a 55, one shot ahead of Alicia Grier.

Duff shot a 26 on the front nine. The top 12 qualified for the third Beaver Creek Classic today.

Schultz, Caron make cut

BEALLSVILLE, Md. - Two area golfers made the cut on the second day of the Maryland Open at the Members Club at Four Streams.

Beaver Creek professional Dirk Schultz carded a 3-over par-74 for a two-day total of 149, good for 26th place at 7-over par.


Steve Caron, of Waynesboro, Pa., and Black Rock Golf Course, shot a 5-over par-76 and was in a tie for 29th place with a 150.

Maugansville: Kyle Shanholtz HR, 3 RBI.

South Mountain: Devon Gary, Brian Cibula, Justin Lewis 2 hits each.


Diamonds in the Rough Baseball Camp

The Diamonds in the Rough Baseball Camp still has openings for both boys and girls ages 7-17. The camp will be held at Halfway Little League in Marty Snook Park from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 17-20. The cost is $125.
