Police release little information about human remains

July 10, 2006|by ERIN CUNNINGHAM

Maryland State Police said Sunday they were investigating human remains that were found Friday afternoon near Pen Mar.

Police said the remains had been there for several years, and investigators were working to identify the body. As of Sunday, there were several possible IDs, police said, but nothing was official.

An archaeologist was taken to the scene by Grey Rock Road near the Appalachian Trail, where the body was found, police said.

Additional details were not available Sunday, and police said the incident was still under investigation.
