Frenke's quilt on display



CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Art and utility unite in the West Virginia Division of Culture and History's annual exhibition "Quilts and Wall Hangings."

The juried exhibition features 61 quilts and wall hangings representing the talents of West Virginia quilters. Jane Frenke of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., is included in the exhibit with her work, "Dancing Log Cabin."

Quiltmaking is one of West Virginia's traditional art forms. The fabric art exhibit is on display in the Great Hall and Art Gallery of the Cultural Center, State Capitol Complex in Charleston. The wall hangings will be on display through Sunday, Aug. 20; the quilts can be seen until Monday, Sept. 4.




Wetzel's logo design chosen



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Council for the Arts announces that Jen Wetzel has won the 16th annual logo contest for the council's Celebrate the Arts at Old Market Day.

Wetzel, a senior at Chambersburg Area Senior High School, was presented with an award honoring her winning entry at the National Art Honor Society induction ceremony held at the high school on March 18.

The logo design will appear on posters, signs and T-shirts for the July 16 festival in downtown Chambersburg.
