Duplicate bridge club posts results

Sixteen pairs competed Friday night, June 30, during a meeting of the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club in Hagers-town.

In the North/South direction, Elaine Rowe and Judy Ochs finished in first place in the A stratum with a 66.67-percent game. Ralph Cate and Lynn Welsh were second in A and first in B with 63.39 percent, and Ethel Reed and Jean Hollyday placed third in A with 54.46 percent. Bill and Madeline Davis were second in B with 48.51 percent, and Joann Fillingham and Alan Brown tied with Irene and John Schmehl for first place in C.

In the East/West direction, Jack Mesner and Tom Janus were first in both the A and B strata with 59.23 percent. Joan and Ron Harmon were second in A and B and first in C with 56.55 percent, and Frank and Anne Carden were third in A with 55.95 percent. Debbie and Scott Kiser placed second in C with 50 percent.

In the annual masterpoint race as of the end of June, Margaret Peirce was first with 16.59 points. Elaine Rowe was second with 15.6 points, and Scott and Debbie Kiser were tied for third place with 15.04. Bill and Madeline Davis were tied for fifth place with 12.86, and Lois and Dick Taylor were tied for seventh with 12.15. Tim Smith was in ninth place with 11.98, and Judy Ochs was 10th with 11.3.

The Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club meets at 7:30 p.m. Fridays at the American Legion on Northern Avenue. All bridge players are welcome. For more information, call 301-797-4627.
