On the move

July 05, 2006

Last week was Vacation Bible School week at the Willow Brook Seventh-day Adventist Church but it didn't start off as a typical graham crackers and warm milk kind of evening. Above, the youngsters attending the classes take a ride on the Good Neighbor Trolley Tours, which was the theme of the VBS activities at the 8916 Mapleville Road church near Boonsboro. Jim Burns of Hagerstown is the owner and driver of the trolley car, which is a replica of a turn-of-the-century model. Trolley conductor Burns and the trolley left from the church parking lot with Vacation Bible School children who planned and led an ice cream social for the girls at the nearby San Mar Children's Home.

In addition to the ice cream, the San Mar girls were given an opportunity to take a spin in the trolley, play outdoor games, and have fun.
