Man charged in shooting incident

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - A Falling Waters man was charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm after gunshots were fired toward a home in Sportsmen's Paradise late Monday, police said.

Officers with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department said the incident started when Richard Louis McIntyre, 52, became involved in a fight with a woman, according to a police press release.

McIntyre became angry "over the incident and began to shoot at the other parties' residence while they were outside, using a .410 shotgun," according to the release.

Police were called to the scene at 11:45 p.m. Four deputies found McIntyre at his home and took him into custody without incident. Deputies also found a .410-gauge shotgun in McIntyre's home, police said.

An Eastern Regional Jail spokeswoman said Tuesday morning that McIntyre was being held there, awaiting arraignment by a magistrate on the felony charge.
