FREDERICK, Md. - 3 Roads Communications Inc. of Frederick was named the winner of four Telly Awards for television and video projects produced in 2005.

The Telly is an international competition that recognizes excellence in the fields of commercial, video and television production. 3 Roads won for the following productions:

National Women's History Museum congressional video, a DVD that was distributed to Congress featuring Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep

Centers for Disease Control Influenza Bites and Cover Package, footage and interviews supplied to broadcast and cable networks educating the public about the flu vaccine.

Carey Call Center Video, explaining the call center processes of Carey Limousine.

Bowers' Insurance

Bowers' Insurance of Hagerstown is expanding its weekday office hours in response to a customer service survey conducted by the agency.


Beginning July 3, Bowers' Insurance will change its current office schedule to Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, coverage now will be available in the office from noon to 1 p.m. The office previously was closed for lunch during that hour.

The survey about its hours of operation was part of Bowers' Insurance overall customer service objective.

In addition to surveys such as this one, the program also reaches out to clients through newsletters, dedicated Web sites for contractors and renters, and regular meetings with clients to discuss the handling of their accounts, the company says.


MANITOWOC, Wis. - The Manitowoc Company has announced that as prime contract and program manager, it was awarded a multi-year contract by the U.S. Coast Guard for construction and delivery of up to 250 response boat-medium vessels for a total contract value of up to $600 million.

Manitowoc will share the contract equally with its RB-M team partner, Kvichak Marine Industries of Seattle.

BNI Group

The Hagerstown BNI group, which normally meets every Tuesday, will not meet on July 4 because of the Independence Day holiday.
