Mountaintop Heritage Days


Commemorating the 143rd anniversary of the second-largest Civil War battle in Pennsylvania. The festival begins with a parade today at 9 a.m. in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., followed by a chicken barbecue, motorcycle and car show, vendors and more. Continues through Monday with music, period craft vendors, a Civil War encampment, living history discussions, period dancers, a battle walk and book signings. Call Gary at 717-794-2128.




'The Reptile Man'

Sam Michaels Park

Hagerstown Speedway

Salute to Independence

Independence Jam


Independence Jam 2006 will have fireworks Sunday at 9:30 p.m. The day's activities begin at 4 p.m. Includes tours of the historic Plumb Grove mansion and a basketry demonstration. There will be children's activities, music, and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Plumb Grove, Broadfording Road, near the Clear Spring school complex. Call 301-842-2252.




Boonsboro's July 4


The celebration will feature the Rohrersville Band and a DJ. Food will be sold. Sunday, 5 p.m., fireworks about 9:15 p.m. Shafer Memorial Park off Main Street, Boonsboro. Rain date is Monday, July 3.
